Dear Premier Ford,

It's not too late to fix Minister Mulroney's mistake and get Hamilton's LRT project back on track.

We were just three months away from getting the final bids from the three firms competing to build and operate the system. If the numbers went over budget then, we could look at reducing the scope (like Mississauga just did) or asking the Feds to help cover the difference.

Cancelling a competitive bidding process just before it is concluded based on secret government numbers is not "open for business".

Premier Ford, you can still fix this. You can get the LRT project back on track and look at all options to make sure it fits the budget.

Hamiltonians support this LRT. We've been advocating for it for 12 years. Council has voted 70+ times to support it. Mayor Eisenberger won re-election with a strong majority on his pro-LRT stance.

Last year, you said, "I support building the Hamilton LRT because the people of this great city deserve a working transit system. This is an investment that will create jobs, countless new jobs and stimulate economic development." That's still true - we need your help and leadership to be an engine of growth and prosperity for Ontario.

Please fix this mistake and get Hamilton LRT back on track!
