Cancelling the LRT funding at this point in the process is not necessary and leaves so many questions unanswered. There are opportunities to test the claims around costing. Given recent examples in Kitchener-Waterloo it seems unlikely that Minister Mulroney’s figures are reasonable.
Other projects are moving forward, including the one in Mississauga, so Hamilton, which has done the hard work of getting to this point deserves to at least progress to the bid process and see what suns are required.
Please reconsider this decision and announcement.
