Statement by Mary-Jane McKitterick
The LRT is a critical pillar of our transportation network and infrastructure that will benefit drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, people with disabilities, seniors, students from K to post secondary, homeowners, service industry workers and countless others. It will benefit our tax base, economic growth particularly for small and medium sized businesses, our shared air quality and green spaces. It is the backbone of BLAST and without it, BLAST will be greatly diminished to the extent that it will not have a measurable impact. The LRT and is the essential catalyst for Hamilton to be a "Life Sized City" and join the 21st Century in a planned and progressive way.
