GO Transit is extending weekend and holiday Lakeshore West train trips to the Aldershot GO Station, beginning tomorrow [Sunday, October 28, 2007].

Weekend train trips on this line previously began and ended at the Oakville GO Station. Weekend and holiday service to the Burlington and Aldershot stations had been limited to GO buses.

The change also brings weekend service to the Bronte and Appleby stations, which were not served by either trains or buses on weekends or holidays.

GO Transit chair Peter Smith said GO expects about 1,000 customers to use the new weekend service.

Starting Sunday, eastbound train trips will leave Aldershot for Union Station starting at 7:08 a.m., and every hour until 11:08 p.m. Westbound trips will leave Union Station starting at 6:43 a.m., and every hour until 43 minutes past midnight.

GO information is available at 1-888-GET ON GO (438-6646) long distance toll free, or 1-800-387-3652 for TTY teletypewriters only, or from the GO website at gotransit.com.
