Statement by James King
I recently moved to Hamilton from Toronto because it had the promise of developing into a livable urban space and not just another sleepy Ontario suburb. An LRT will bring more business and encourage economic development. And make living without a car more bearable in a city over-run by 4 lane streets and an abundance of parking.
The evidence that an LRT system will be good for hamilton is overwhelming. Critics have far too much work ahead of them to collect evidence to the contrary which I have yet to see. All I have seen on that front is pandering, misinformation, and and speculation. The studies have been done, the province is ready to back the project, and it will directly benefit the lives of Hamilton residents. It's clear what we have to do.
