Statement by Peter Hill
The Hamilton LRT is not only a modern and much needed transportation system, it is an economy booster. Increased compact development in existing built areas of Hamilton allows for increased tax revenues and a more prosperous city. There are those in Hamilton who do not understand this and naturally oppose spending the money to build our city. They are not part of Hamilton's leadership, both elected and community based, who recognize the value of this opportunity. Simply stated, to increase our tax revenues, Hamilton needs the LRT. And another simple statement:: - it will win you seats in the next election!
