Statement by Mike Christie
We understand how large projects like this can go over budget. However this project is about INVESTMENT. the economic uplift with LRT, through expert study is the BEST choice for Hamilton. This will greatly improve both provincial and municipal tax revenues over the long term. It’s the best choice for our climate. And will encourage people to get on a new form of transit where buses still have a major cultural stigma in Hamilton. This will also help car commuters with fewer cars on the road.
Hamilton, just like other mid size cities in Ontario, needs LRT investment. Don’t go back on your word. Hamilton overwhelmingly voted for LRT. be your mantra of being FOR THE PEOPLE.
