Minister McKenna has indicated she wants to work with the city and province to get this project back on track. That's an important first step.
There was considerable misinformation from Caroline Mulroney on the cancellation. She only confirmed later as a result of a reporter asking for more details. that the figure of $5B which she referred to was actually for a 30 year period. It's the same figure as the province is funding to build 3 subway stops in Scarborough. The Hamilton LRT by contrast is 14 kms and 17 stops.
Hamilton needs more public transit.
