Statement by Karlie Bond
Hamilton needs the LRT! Due to low income areas and the increase of students, it is needed for people to stay connected and be able to access the cities amenities easily. It will help drive tourism!
The city is gentrifying at a very slow rate, however, the population is growing dramatically. This will help Hamilton lift itself out of the slums and into a bustling metropolis which people desire to live in and visit. As a real estate agent, Hamilton still maintains a negative stigma, however it is the only place many of my clients can (for now) afford to live. The LRT would increase its desirability and improve the city as a whole. Create jobs, increase community, improve transit accessibility and make Hamilton a more interesting place to visit and stay.
