This LRT will bring accessibility to the city, bring business and life to the Main/King corridor, and encourage investors to build more housing to make Hamilton a greater version of itself.
There is a lot of potential here. The time to build large transit projects is not when there is a problem. Our province has suffered with this mindset, and we only start projects when the demand is incredibly high. This will pave the way for future transit options in this city and will bring our city into the modern era.

I completely support the new Hamilton LRT plan and urge Hamilton City Council to endorse it with the overwhelming majority vote it deserves. I am pleased to see the unwavering support of all the city's anchor institutions. The benefits will accrue to our environment and to all the residents of the City of Hamilton, not just downtown residents. I hope Hamilton will live up to its aspiration as an ambitious city by seizing this one-time opportunity.
