By starting with an LRT system, Hamilton can become a more cohesive and unified city. We need to move away from cars and allow for reliable movement in the city by transit. Having the LRT as an anchor will allow for that and also bring development along the transit line. This is a great opportunity that the city cannot turn down.

As a journalist I have followed this story for more than 30 years...just like the Linc and Red Hill Expressway which finally got built but costing umpteen million more dollars.
The system in Newcastle Australia, where I recently visited, my husband’s home town, was built in 18 months. We have to start somewhere when it comes to moving this city forward .
