Railways have been one of the primary engines of growth for this country, historically. This city needs this project if it is to come fully into the 21st century. Please ignore the naysayers and the wardheelers who do not share our combined vision for the future. Run the spur line all the way to the waterfront to increase both access and services.

I completely support the new Hamilton LRT plan and urge Hamilton City Council to endorse it with the overwhelming majority vote it deserves. I am pleased to see the unwavering support of all the city's anchor institutions. The benefits will accrue to our environment and to all the residents of the City of Hamilton, not just downtown residents. I hope Hamilton will live up to its aspiration as an ambitious city by seizing this one-time opportunity.
