I am excited to see Hamilton's LRT program begin. Not only will this enable people to get around the city more easily, but it will also help show that we are a city focused on technological advancement and growth. LRT will help to show we are no longer a steel town and considered a joke by many, but a vibrant, progressive community that embraces change and advancement.

I completely support the new Hamilton LRT plan and urge Hamilton City Council to endorse it with the overwhelming majority vote it deserves. I am pleased to see the unwavering support of all the city's anchor institutions. The benefits will accrue to our environment and to all the residents of the City of Hamilton, not just downtown residents. I hope Hamilton will live up to its aspiration as an ambitious city by seizing this one-time opportunity.
