From a purely economic standpoint LRT is a wise investment. Funds for upgraded infrastructure along the route will free up money for projects in other wards. Increased tax revenues from businesses along the route will benefit the entire city. Operational funds for the LRT are very similar to current HSR operation funds. LRT would be a huge net benefit to the coffers of the City of Hamilton.
Saying no to this significant investment in the long-term economic well-being of the City would be financial suicide and sets Hamilton on a continued path to economic hardship.
