It would be a huge mistake for city council to turn down the funding offered for LRT to modernize the city.
In addition, city council MUST also find dollars and ways to improve the existing transit service, particularly on the Mountain as well as travel to and from downtown.

As a journalist I have followed this story for more than 30 years...just like the Linc and Red Hill Expressway which finally got built but costing umpteen million more dollars.
The system in Newcastle Australia, where I recently visited, my husband’s home town, was built in 18 months. We have to start somewhere when it comes to moving this city forward .
