Any improvement/addition to mass transit systems is good for the ecology - give people options other than the their personal automobile (an enormous takes-a-lot of energy and resources pig that usually transports only one person).

As a journalist I have followed this story for more than 30 years...just like the Linc and Red Hill Expressway which finally got built but costing umpteen million more dollars.
The system in Newcastle Australia, where I recently visited, my husband’s home town, was built in 18 months. We have to start somewhere when it comes to moving this city forward .
