Leslie Murray-Leung says,
YES to LRT. It has been voted on and passed everytime. No debate here. Turning down a $3.4 billion dollar funding offer from the federal and provincial government is lunacy. LRT is shovel ready. Let's get it done.

I'm a former Hamilton resident now living in K-W. The ION LRT in Waterloo Region has been very beneficial to our community and has sparked an incredible and increasing amount of development. Construction of the 2nd phase of ION to Cambridge is about to begin.
An LRT line in Hamilton will be transformational. -
Michael Clase says,
I am very pleased to hear that the Federal Government has joined the Provincial Government with a very large commitment to the Hamilton LRT project.
Hamilton City Council should follow through on earlier promises (not least the clear voice of the city in favour of LRT in the last mayoral election) and let this project get started.
Public transit projects are essential to reduce carbon emissions, and a project like LRT, which is entirely electric is a major step in the right direction.
Yours sincerely,
Michael Clase -
Paul Craig says,
Stop the dithering.
Bring our city up to date.
LRT is a major step towards a rejuvenated downtown core. I am a resident of the upper part of the city and intelligent enough to realize what benefits one area benefits the city as a whole. More members of council need to step up and get their heads out of....the sand. -
Fazel Patel says,
Hamilton needs proper transportation infrastructure to accommodate the growth and to keep growing.
We need less cars and more public transportation to link to major cities and attractions. -
Jesse Anderson says,
This whole thing is beyond ridiculous at this point. I studied at McMaster and Mohawk College and lived and worked in Hamilton for 15 yrs. I recently moved out of Hamilton (out of province actually), in large part because I had my first kid and did not want them to grow up in Hamilton, mainly because I became so disgusted with the local political situation which has been getting worse to the point of criminal negligence. At this point you are willfully driving out people who have participated in the city's 'rebirth'. Anyways, myself and the majority of Hamiltonians have been voting in favour of this thing for the past 15yrs or so, so I can't believe I'm still getting these emails and writing these comments. Pathetic. Get it done.

The LRT project will create thousands of jobs, it will increase development, specially along the vicinity of the line , New infrastructure, attracts more people to move within the downtown, and a significant increase in revenue for the City, and on ....I hope and pray that City council will make the unanimous decision and embrace the project with a stamp of approval..and fallow the will of most Hamiltonian ..

Hans Vermaat says,
As I have said in the past. LRT does not affect me directly. However, in the interest of the City of Hamilton's future
I am strongly in favour of seeing this built. I am a senior living in Ancaster.
Our experience in our travels have had the
opportunity to see cities thriving on a transit system utilizing rapid light rail and bus transportation. They can work hand in hand. I know there are operating costs involved, but once it is built with funds from both governments, those costs are there regardless. Please look at the total economic benefits and make Hamilton
a progressive city.
Hans Vermaat -

As a handicapped person I look forward to the benefits of LRT transportation.

LRT in downtown Hamilton will be an incredible boost to a city already in the process of rejuvenation. Long term operating costs are nothing compared to the revenue commercial businesses will generate because of an established transportation route.

Janice Lamb says,
I think it is very important to have the LRT running across the lower city to reduce carbon emissions and to give great transportation for the future generations as well as for today! It can't be build soon enough! I don't own a car so I use the HSR. Side note..my brother who lives in the lower part of the city of Hamilton has trouble using the busses due to a back injury and finds the ride painful. I'm hoping the smoother ride of the LRT will allow him to be able to get out more often.

Karan Van Patter says,
